This page explains the warranties that apply to the equipment and services supplied by Office Automation Mackay Pty Ltd (ABN 68 050 521 358), your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and how to tell us about a problem.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled: to cancel your service contract with us; and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
Manufacturer's warranty
New equipment we supply, including copiers, printers, phones and network equipment, comes with the manufacturer's warranty. The period and the conditions are set by the manufacturer and are shown in the documents supplied with the equipment. We can give you a copy on request. If a fault is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, we help you make the claim and arrange the repair or replacement with the manufacturer.
Equipment on a service agreement
If your copier or printer is on one of our service agreements, the agreement covers toner, parts and labour for as long as it is in place, as set out in the agreement.
How to tell us about a problem
Contact us with:
- your business name and the address where the equipment is installed;
- the equipment or service affected, and its serial number if you have it;
- a short description of the problem, and photos if they help.

We respond within one business day and tell you what happens next. If the problem is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, your service agreement or your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we will tell you, and give you a quote before doing any chargeable work.
